  • Pompeii
    •Mount Vesuvius, a volcano near the Bay of Naples in Italy, has erupted more than 50 times.
    •Its most famous eruption took place in the year 79 A.D. when the volcano buried the ancient Roman city of Pompeii under a thick carpet of volcanic ash.

    The Nördlingen Sword
    •The well-preserved Bronze Age sword was recently discovered in the town of Nördlingen, Bavaria, Germany.
    •The extraordinarily well-preserved sword "Almost still shines", is thought to be from the late 14th Century BC.(3500 years old)
    •The bronze sword with an octagonal hilt was found in a grave that also contained the bones of a man, woman, and boy, and other bronze items.

    Drachenburg Castle
    •Drachenburg Castle is a private villa styled as a palace.
    •It was completed in only two years (1882–84) on the Drachenfels hill in Königswinter, a German town on the Rhine River.
    •Built by Baron Stephan von Sarter (1833–1902), a broker and banker, planned to live there, but never did.
    •Drachenburg Castle is kept in the style of historicism and appears as a combination of castle, manor, and villa.
